Line Printers

Printronix P5000 series Line PrintersOne of the original barcode printers, line matrix printers are now used more for printing documents due to their high speed and excellent print quality. Applications for theses large and reliable machines are primarily printing forms, reports and documents, although labels can be used. Line printers can be linked to most AS400 and UNIX systems but tend to be less compatible with Windows Drivers, due to the difficulties in printing true-type fonts on line printers, which can significantly reduce the speed of print. Typical uses of Line Matrix Printers include invoice printing, single and multi-part forms, inventory reports and factory orders, picking lists and shipping documents.

Here at Dash Computer Products we have been supplying line printers to our customers for over a decade and have sold such products to large companies like Sealy Beds (part of the Silentnight Group of companies). We offer a range of both Printronix and Printek line printers to give our customers the choice they need to buy the correct machine for their specific application.

Printek Line Printers

The FormsPro 4000se Series can solve your toughest printing problems and automate most paper handling functions. With the FormsPro 4500se and 4503se you can print with greater legibility and unsurpassed reliability.

The FormsPro is suitable for a variety of work place environments as it is built tough to withstand 100% duty cycles. The FormsPro 4000se range are designed for high-speed, high-volume printing projects. This machine can typically print a 1000 character document in less than 5 seconds which equates to over 700 documents per hour! The FormsPro 4500se uses a single set of straight-up tractors whereas the 4503se features the Tri-Trak System with three sets of straight-through tractors. FormsPro line printers are very economical and waste free as when documents are torn off, the next paper is positioned in exactly the right position for the next document to be printed. Forms are easy to load due to the tilt-up top and the straight-up paper path eliminates the problem of buckling or jamming. In case of jamming a paper jam sensor comes as standard for unattended operating. Optical sensors prevent the print head printing beyond the edges of the loaded form.

Other features of the FormsPro line printer are:

  • Ability to set IP address from the front panel
  • Remote printer setup
  • Firmware flash upgradeable
  • 802.11b wireless ethernet interface available as an option to allow the printer to be part of a wireless network
  • Genicom ANSI emulation
  • Increased available memory
  • Two-line display
  • Auto-switching power supply - can work domestically and internationally
  • Superior legibility - even on 9 part forms
  • Stores parameters for up to 10 forms
